Baby Sweater in Pineapple pattern – Free pattern in English

Baby Sweater in Pineapple pattern
This pattern is really cute and quick to make. Although it looks little difficult but trust me it is really easy and quick sweater pattern.

This sweater will fit newborn to 3 months old baby. I have made my notes while working on sweater which I am sharing below.

The yoke of the sweater is made of rows of dc. The bodice has 4 pineapple pattern two in front and two at back. I have used US terms in pattern.

Hook size – 5mm

Yarn required – 4ply baby wool, less than 100gms

To adjust the size of the sweater, use smaller or larger hook and yarn

Buttons – 4

Abbreviations:
dc – double crochet

sc – single crochet

sts – stitch

ch – chain

sk – skip st

This pattern is not tested so if you find any error please inform.

****** Jenness Fulton tried out the pattern in 8ply and 4ply yarn ******

Pineapple pattern baby sweater in 2 different weights of yarn with a 5 mm hook. The red one was done using 8 ply (DK) wool and the pink with 4 ply (baby weight) wool. Not a huge difference in measurements between them as you can see from the 3rd picture. I think the pattern is better suited to the heavier yarn if you’re going to use the 5 mm hook. Red one was 31 cm long (measured top of button hole row to bottom hem), 26 cm wide (width measured from bottom of arm holes 26×2 for diameter). I used 113 g of wool (185.32 m of the DK yarn). Pink one was 29 cm length, 24.5 cm width, 68 g of wool (ie 183.6 m of wool). I still need to add buttons to both cardigans and then see which, if either fits my baby who is nearly 6 months old (and a little small for her age). If neither fit then they’ll both be for my niece who is due in December. Either way they’ll eventually go to my niece as we’re passing along all our baby clothes as my daughter outgrows them.
