Crochet Quick Easy Shell Leg Warmers

Crochet Quick easy shell leg warmers

This is a very simple & quick pattern for making leg warmers. Before starting with the

pattern, measure the length and the width (circumference of the leg) of the kid’s legs for whom you are making this.

So basically, we are making a rectangle and sewing buttons to comfortably wrap around the legs.

**You can replace the shell stitch with your favorite stitch. You can also join the foundation chain in circle and continue the pattern in rounds (remember in this case – keep the foundation chain as long as the width. Continue till desired length. Fasten off and weave the ends in.) So easy!!! **

I chose shell st because it is quick, looks great, I can just add few more rows in future if I have to increase the width. Also, I was little lazy to create button loops (lol)

Ok then let’s start: [make 2]

Ch 40 (or as per the length of the kid’s leg) + 2

1: Hdc in 3rd chain, 1hdc in each ch. Turn.

2: ch3, 1dc in same st, sk 2sts, *shell sts(2dc, ch1, 2dc) all in next sts, sk2 sts repeat

from * till last st and 2dc in last st. Turn. [12 full shells]

3: ch3, 1dc in same st, *shell st in next ch1-space, repeat from * till last st and 2dc in

last st. Turn

4-15: repeat row 3 till 15 rows or till the width to wrap around the leg.

**Optional – you can make border of (shell of 5dc in next st, sk2 sts, 1sc in next st,

repeat) at the upper side (along the width) of the piece.**

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Sew buttons on the 1st row which we had made of hdc. Adjust buttons in such way that the ch1-spaces in the shell st can be used as loop for the buttons.

Leg warmers are ready. Do share the pics.

Happy Crocheting!!!
